About
STAGENORTH
Firmly rooted in the belief that small communities deserve quality year round entertainment, STAGENORTH was established in 2000, in what was once the old Swedish Lutheran Church (c. 1887),  as a year round stage, concert and film venue.
Artistic Director Jan Lee, draws on over 20 years of professional experience in acting, singing, writing, directing, designing and producing to create the foundation that is STAGENORTH.
In 2002 the Governor of the State of Wisconsin officially designated STAGENORTH a Wisconsin Treasure.

At STAGENORTH we believe in the axiom that small is beautiful and invite you to come on in and enjoy!

Located in Washburn, on the beautiful south shore of Lake Superior at Chequamegon Bay, the “gateway to the Apostle Islands”. STAGENORTH produces professional,  community oriented events featuring international, national, regional and local artists, in the intimacy of a 150 seat theatre. The new STAGENORTH, the only purpose-built theater in the area, was opened in July 2007.
